One of the things I like to do

In the last few months me and my lover have been playing with my digital camera, to created a simple game of distortions, as I feel it. We put any kind of objects we choose in front the camera so we can enjoy the things we love in a different way.

Sketch-room

While talking to a friend of mine, I realized that I've been living in some sort of sketch-book. He said that visiting me at my place is like traveling somewhere or going to another universe with all the stories plastered on the walls.
The first look is of a complete mess inside the 4 walls that shape my small room. Everything in this small chaos has a specific space, but only I know where that is. There is a space for my clothes, one for my books and another for my work. Without a doubt, the walls are what I like the most, they seem like huge beautiful pieces of paper where I can work, write, draw, hang up objects or paste images that I find beautiful. I love to create visual compositions that act as my mental maps.
My room is the direct reflection of my own thoughts. A small space, sometimes my shelter and others my cage.

This place makes me think about my childhood, when I spent few hours a day
in a small room in my parents house. It was actually smaller than my current room, almost a quarter of it. My favorite thing was to sit down on the floor and take a slow, detailed look around. I would memorize the things that my family had there: clothes, tools, shoes, books and papers. I felt safe there and totally happy without people.
I took some shots of things that I like in my room that show what I am working on. I hope you enjoy it!!!

motherhood

She took a jelly jar with her hands, she likes to have only some of it. The jar was tightly closed so she tried several times and in different ways to open it, until finally an accurate hit on the wall, blew the lid off. I could see in her mad eyes how eager she was to have something sweet. She licked the bottle in front of us, I thought of her as a rich woman in front of poor children. She didn't realize that the jar was broken and she cut her tongue. She was shocked, everybody in deep hysteria running around looking for cotton, gauze or toilette paper; aid supplies were flying all over the place. She was bleeding for a long time. I did nothing, I couldn't move a single finger, I was only paying attention to the beautiful scene.

scratching my mind

..."Ideas have to be wedded to action; if there is no sex, no vitality in them, there is no action. Ideas cannot exist alone in the vacuum of the mind. Ideas are related to living"... H.Miller

These are a series of sketches that I am working on: a representation of my dreams and thoughts, which usually come from my past in the most crazy and weird way. Some of them represent the way in which I perceive my friends, while others are a graphic fantasy about guys that I liked or that I created to satisfy myself. Some drawings are home-made remedies for my frustrations or to get rid of feelings that piss me off.

In coming weeks I will be posting more drawings and obviously, more of my words. Anyway, I just want to share what I really love to do, things that help me kill time while I'm waiting for the train or wasting my time in a park. It is a means to clean my mind as it serves as a great spa to lay back on. These drawings are part of the six sketch books that I have been working on since I came to New York three years ago. A few months ago they were the only medium that I had to express myself, walking in this city like a fool without a speaking a single English word. I found them to be a friendly mirror.

So I finally have a blog, I want it to be a nice media to meet people to trade drawings with, you are welcome!
